Couples Therapy.
Sex-positive LGBTQIA and feminist-centered couples therapy and intimacy therapy create a supportive and inclusive environment for individuals and couples of diverse sexual orientations and gender identities. Couples come to me for a variety of reasons, perhaps communication breakdown has taken its toll, maybe trust has been broken, or alternatively, you want to deepen your connection and fall in love again.
Whatever it is, I am here for it.
I use techniques from Gottman therapy, developed by John and Julie Gottman, is a couples therapy approach focused on improving communication, increasing empathy, and resolving conflicts in relationships. It aims to enhance intimacy, respect, and affection while helping couples build a deeper understanding of each other and their shared meaning.
These approaches emphasize inclusivity and celebrate all identities while incorporating equitable principles that promote equality and dismantle traditional gender roles. This type of therapy advocates for open communication and mutual respect within relationships, normalizing diverse sexual experiences and expressions through a sex-positive lens that seeks to reduce shame or stigma around sexual issues.
